Latisha Thompson
Chief Employee Experience Officer
Latisha Thompson is the Chief Employee Experience Officer for Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC—The Reliable One), the 14th largest municipal utility in the United States. Ms. Thompson is responsible for positioning the organization as an “Employer of Choice” by developing innovative people strategies, helping employees navigate industry changes, and continuously improving safety and technical training. In her role, Ms. Thompson leads Human Resources, Safety, Emergency Management, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, and Technical Training.
Prior to joining OUC in 2018, Ms. Thompson was Vice President of Human Resources and Labor Relations for Florida East Coast Railway, a wholly owned subsidiary of Grupo Mexico Transportes, the leading Class I railroad in Mexico. Before that, she served in leadership positions at CSX Transportation and Sears, Roebuck and Company.
Passionate about the community, Ms. Thompson serves on the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida board of directors. In 2020, she was appointed by Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings to the Orange County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Initiative, a collaborative effort promoting unity, diversity and connectivity.
Ms. Thompson is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she earned a Master of Business Administration degree. She also obtained a master’s degree in human resource management and development from Webster University, and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Troy University.
She is certified as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) by the Society of Human Resources Management and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resource Certification Institute.
